Alto, niños, ¿qué es ese sonido?
O como aprendí a callarme y escuchar
¡Hola compañeros humanos!
Today's Spanish activities are centered around reading and comprehension, emphasizing listening to native speakers.
This will teach me two things: One, to get used to the rhythm and pronunciation of spoken Spanish, and two, to get the gist of what is being said without trying to understand every word.
First, I spent some time with Duolingo Stories, where I listened to a story and repeated everything that was said, so I could get used to the pronunciation.
Then, I read children's stories in the Global Digital Library. What's great about that is the stories are similar to those I heard as a child, so it's easy to get an idea of what's being said.
Anyway, let's practice Spanish. Let me tell you about my morning (with some help from Google Translate).
Me desperté a las 6:30. Todavía estaba cansada, pero tenía cosas que hacer. Me salté el ejercicio. Comí una dona. Practiqué español. Eso es todo.
Hoy está lloviendo en New Orleans, así que voy a beber té y ser perezosa.
¡Adiós muchachos!
